2009 Gold Cup Invitational Series
The Gold Cup Invitational Series is five single day tournaments at Mesa State College and area schools. Teams accumulate points based on their wins during the tournament and final standing in each tournament. Awards are given to the teams that win each division at each of the five tournaments as teams accumulate points towards a series championship. Last year, we had 35 teams so over 410 kids (boys and girls from 10 to 14) at these tournaments. The teams were from as far away as Steamboat Springs, Basalt, Vail and Durango.
In our attempt to continue to grow the quality of the game, it is necesary for us this year to make the Gold Cup Series by invitation only, which will help us more effectively use the limited facilities that we have with which to conduct the tournaments. Teams from last year's Gold Cup Series will have top priority.
